The Office Depot "Hand"

I’m no advertising professional, and 2007 is barely under way, but I suspect this qualifies as the marketing blunder of the year – the Office Depot “Helping Hand”. Cue cluttered office:

Man: Ok, time to get organized.
Woman: We’re gonna need a hand.
Hand pops out of box:

Um, shouldn’t the woman both of them be screaming? Instead, you see the “hand” leading the woman around the store,

and handing the guy the phone:

Even if this was a throwback to the Addams Family, I still think it’s creepy, and I’m not the only one.
